Our Story

Five Fingers Farm was born in 2010 when Todd and Liz Gabrielsen moved from Salt Lake City to 20 Acres in the New Harmony Valley. They dreamed of building a more self-reliant life style on the farm. Back then, Five Fingers Farm was 20 of the most neglected and overgrazed acres in the Valley. Liz named their new home Five Fingers Farm, with a nod to the nearby Five Fingers of Kolob and to remind everyone that farm life means working with you hands! 😊

In 2014, their daughter Laine, wanted to add goats to the farm operation. So they brought on three milk goats: Bucket, Celia and Phoebe. This was the beginning of Laine’s participation in local farming and food.

In 2018 Laine started selling bread, chicken and produce at the St George Farmer’s Market as well as selling pastured Chicken to the New Harmony Community. She left the farm later that year for an internship on Quail Hollow Farm in Southern Nevada. There she met her husband, Porter. They connected over their shared love of farming and homesteading.

Following their marriage they returned to Five Fingers Farm. They now work to bring farm produce to their table and the tables of their neighbors.
