WHAT IS A HERD SHARE? WHAT IS A HERD SHARE AGREEMENT?

In a herd share a person buys a share in our herd, making them a co-owner of our herd and entitling them to the benefits of owning a dairy goat such as milk, yogurt or kefir.

We use a herd share agreement. A herd share agreement is made up of two documents: a bill of sale and an agister agreement.

WHERE DO I PICK UP? HOW DO PICK UPS WORK? DO YOU OFFER PICK UPS YEAR ROUND?

All pick ups take place on our farm in New Harmony, Utah. On farm pick ups are scheduled according to your preference and our availability.

When you sign up we provide you with a bottle. When you pick up your dairy bring your clean bottle and fill it from our bulk tanks.

We milk April- December. We send the exact beginning and end dates at the beginning of the year.

There are also 2 prescheduled weeks out of the year that we don’t deliver, as well as 2 emergency misses. These are subtracted from our pricing.

HOW ARE THE GOATS RAISED?

Our goats live in our pastures. We use rotational and intensive grazing techniques to build soil and promote the health of our goats. Their diet is supplemented, when needed, with locally grown grains (no corn, no soy) and hay (as local, organic and non GMO as we can get it.) Our goats don’t do drugs! On rare occasions when one of the herd gets sick, we use holistic and natural practices to treat them.

HOW IS THE MILK HANDLED?

We milk out in the pasture by hand! Clean stainless steel buckets are used to collect the milk. After milking we strain the milk, bottle it and chill it as quickly as possible.

All our dairy products are made using traditionally based techniques and practices and organically raised ingredients.
